Round Up for Change Program

"Round-Up" Small Change That Changes Lives

Anoka Municipal Utility (AMU) customers who choose to participate in the Round up for Change program also choose to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in need within our community.

AMU participating customers "round-up" their monthly utility bill to the next highest dollar. For example, if an AMU utility bill is $42.79, it is rounded up to $43. The additional $0.21 goes to the Round up for Change program. The average contribution from each participating utility customer is about $0.50 a month. Although this contribution is not tax deductible, the most a customer can contribute annually is $11.88.

Voluntary round up contributions provide financial assistance to local organizations that provide basic human needs to help improve the lives of families, children and seniors right here in our community.  Since inception, AMU Utility customers participating in the Round Up program have given more than $382,000 to these local charitable organizations that provide the basic human needs of food, clothing and shelter:  ACBC Food Shelf,  Alexandra House,  Anoka Community Mission,  CEAP Food Shelf and CROSS Services.
