For all of those who missed the unveiling of AMU’s gift to Anoka – here it is!!!
This pumpkin design started as a team building “group project” idea from AMU’s Utility Director Greg Geiger. He had always hoped to re-purpose the wire reels somehow, and what better than the creation of a giant pumpkin for the Halloween Capital of the World! Through this idea came the group effort of AMU staff, and included an outside talented friend, Greg Pavlik, who was willing to donate his time welding the group’s plans into a real sculpture. As the pumpkin progressed, more ideas from other departments of the city came about until it became a real masterpiece to share with everyone in Anoka for years to come! A big thank you to everyone involved in creating this Halloween tradition for the kick-off of the 100 year celebration in Anoka!!!
But we are not done yet! WE NEED YOUR HELP – LET’S CONTINUE THIS GROUP EFFORT BY EXTENDING IT OUT TO OUR COMMUNITY!!! HELP US NAME THIS PUMPKIN!!!! Here is our plan. Please comment on our Facebook post with name suggestions until October 15th, 2020, or call us at 763-576-2902 with your name suggestions. Our AMU staff will then select the top 5 choices in the office and will have an open community-wide vote for the new name by Halloween, vote closing on October 29th, 2020!
