Anoka Pumpkin Smash

Smash it! Don’t trash it! On Saturday, November 5, from 9am-12pm at Rick Sorenson Park (2015 State Ave.), Anoka’s Waste Reduction & Recycling Board is hosting its annual Pumpkin Smash!
Save those pumpkins and creative jack-o’-lanterns after the Halloween festivities and bring them to the event to be composted and save them from being placed in the trash!
Please remove all candles, decorations, etc. Smash it into the dumpster which will be hauled off to a compost site.
We will also have a table showcasing our new organics recycling drop-off program. You can sign-up for this free program and receive your starter kit and all of the information after you smash your pumpkins!
The local Minnesota Donut Shop food truck will be on site selling flavored mini donuts, hot apple cider and cotton candy (in case you didn't get enough candy while trick or treating!)
Remember - there is a fun playground at the park, too.
